But the authors overstate the case at the beginning of the chapter, when they attempt to differentiate between XML solutions and other solutions based on the idea that non-XML solutions require complicated scripting and XML does not. In my mind, a book on design that ignores scale is inexcusable. It's a wonderful, compelling and entertaining guide to the undersea world, the next best thing to strapping on your gear and swimming down to have a look yourself.
