As a Biomedical Engineer, it provided a very realistic and complete view on the engineering applications of the medical field in relation to medicine. Nuland, M.D. Although not overly deep, the book is very well written and allows for easy understanding of the material. Her creative ideas are astounding backed by multitudes of small house make-overs brimming with inspiration that's actually useful to those of us who are not richyet would like to have the nicest furnishings we can afford. Even if the furnishings or wainscotting in the cottages seem dated to you (I think they seem classic in context), the floor plans and basic ideas are good.It's particularly fun to see creative solutions for storage challenges. I love this book, as it really opened our minds to the variety of styles available for windows. Therfore you can throw this book in your gig back and not be worried about it to much. The book tries to be readable for both MEMS fabrication engineers (me) and for the medical field.
